The farm was identified and purchased several years ago by well-known and established telecommunications manager Marco Bassetti, a great lover of food and wine. The wine project of La Corsa started in 2005, it is conducted under the supervision of the winemakers Vittorio Fiore and Barbara Tamburini, which aims to build the facility of the new vineyards composed primarily from Sangiovese grapes, which were later joined major unusual varieties for the area, such as Petit Verdot and Teroldego.
In the initial phase has been paid particular attention to physics-chemical properties of soil and climatic and micro-climatic conditions to test their compatibility with the planting of those varieties selected for the implementation of the project. The land of vineyards, located on a gentle slope, which span about 18 acres.
Their composition, mainly of clayey-sandy and good skeleton, is ideal for the production of red wines of great structure and elegance. This led to the system of the first 12 hectares of vineyard with a medium to high density (6,000 plants / ha), raised partly in and partly as a cordon Guyot.
The management of the vines is conducted with the utmost respect for the environment and in order to obtain very low yields of grapes per plant.
